kick scooter

Continuing my theme of power and transportation; Today I share this photo of a young boy enjoying a manually powered scooter. I was properly impress given most people use electric powered scooter. I was also impressed they he is wearing a helmet, which is a good thing given shortly after this photo he was performing arial stunts on his scooter.

Following is a link to a YouTube video showing the tricks with scooters. We are also sharing a link to the original of today’s photo saved on Flickr with the caption: An admirable form of transportation.

early Christmas present

Recently, we opened and assembled an early Christmas present such that we can keep active this winter. I ordered this spin bike on the day that the Omicron variant made the news. When the pandemic began we put our YMCA gym membership on hold thinking that soon we would be back. Then our expectations shifted and we planned our return to the gym in three months, then six months, then a year, and now who knows. So we chose to bring a little of the gym into our home.

One of the challenges is space. Where to put a spin bike in a 1,200 square foot condo. We chose the living room such that we can participate in Apple Fitness+ on our TV.

starting the new year on the right foot

right foot
Today’s photo is a metaphor for my New Year wishes. Specifically, the idea is starting the new year on the right foot.

My New Years wishes include the hope that our elected officials will govern wisely with humility and kindness. Hopefully they will reflect on the positive benefits diversity brings to our society. And that the decisions they take will be for the benefit of everyone. That their decisions and actions take long term impacts into account such that the environment will be protected for future generations.

Also, I hope that companies retain the best practices implemented to satisfy government regulations. And that proposed corporate tax reductions are put to uses which benefit all stack holders including the employees.

In addition, I hope that individuals continue to make immigrants feel welcome. Remembering that most of our ancestors were immigrants. Also, I hope that we find the wisdom to ignore fake news and support our established media organizations.

I personally think it is important we preserve and exercise our first amendment rights. And that when we exercise our freedom of speech that we do so in a civil manner.

encountering synergy

encountering synergy; Jogging past Synergy Coverage Solutions in Uptown Charlotte
encountering synergy … The weather was nice this weekend which encouraged outdoor activity such as jogging or as Connie and were doing … strolling from one coffee shop to the next.

I like that the photo opportunity presented itself as we meet the joggers just as they passed the Synergy offices … resulting in an interesting photo … a sort of synergy (smile)

This photo was taken in the 200 block of South Tryon and the business adding an assist to this photo opportunity is Synergy Coverage Solutions.
