Mural Monday

Our contribution, to the Mural Monday theme, is this photo showing the completed mural on Martin Luther King street at the intersection with the light rail. Following is a link allowing you to look back to the mural in its early stages.

Following is a short video, showing the mural with a portion of the Charlotte skyline.

mural detail

Today we share a few details from the President’s Cup mural which we have highlighted the last two days. My favorite is the photo with signatures. What I especial like are the joggers (you have to zoom in to see them) in the bottom of the mural next to the signatures.

Following are links to the muralist @Traveling_Gypsy and @TreasyTreaz. Also, we are sharing a link to the original of today’s photo saved on Flickr with the caption: Part of a mural found in uptown Charlotte.

Mural Monday, magic

Today is Mural Monday and we are sharing a mural called “where the magic happens”. The mural is signed by @Traveling_Gypsy and @Duarte_Designs; and zooming in I found a QR code which promises a video of the artist, the ability to generate site-specific “face filters”, and explore a 3-D model of the piece.

Okay, I will admit that I had to Google what a face filter was (embarrassing).

The artist are Sydney Duarte and Ann Duarte.   The mural can be found at 400 South Church Street.

Following is a link to the Uptown Interactive webpage which places QR codes next to many of the murals in Uptown Charlotte. Also, we are sharing a link to the original of today’s photo saved on Flickr with the caption: A mural call “where the magic happens” found in uptown Charlotte.
