This is what all parking garages should look like. They should be under a park with trees, flowers, art, and people with smiling faces. Actually, we are fortunate to have this park and parking garage in front of our condo complex in uptown Charlotte. The park and the parking garage are called The Green for good reason.

Following is a Wikipedia article about The Green. In addition we are sharing a link for today’s photo saved on Flickr with the caption: Flowers at the Green parking garage in uptown Charlotte.

flowers on the Green

During these difficult times it is good to notice what is beautiful. This photo was taken at The Green, which is actually an underground parking garage. At street level The Green is a small park, complete with signpost honoring authors, two story sculptures of stacked books, fish sculptures spotting water for the kids to play in, and lots of flowers.

We were shopping at Best Buy when this photo was taken. We also frequently park at the Metropolitan because it gives us easy access to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. In addition Trader Joe’s, great restaurants, and outdoor music can be found at the Metropolitan.

colorful parking garage

a colorful parking garage in Uptown Charlotte
This colorful parking garage caught my eye recently and so we are sharing a photo with you. Actually Charlotte has several interesting parking garages which make for good photo opportunities. However they don’t catch my attention given we mostly walk … my reason for noticing this parking garage is that it is next to the 7th Street Public Market where everything from fresh produce to wine and good food can be found.

This photo was taken near 224 E 7th Street and following is a link to the 7th Street Public Market.
