Today’s photo shows a common scene in Uptown Charlotte now that the weather is warmer. As shown, in today’s photo; people are wearing shorts, the streets are empty, and skateboarders are enjoying themselves.
Now that my wife and I have been vaccinated we are more confrontable strolling in Uptown. To be safe we wear our mask and maintain physical distance from others. However, we no longer tense up every time we cross paths with someone. With the possible exception of the skateboarders. We still worry we will witness an accident.
Following is an article about Skateboard Injury Statistics and I was surprised to find that there were fewer skateboarding accidents than there were playground equipment accidents. When taking this photo or my grandson playing a Freedom Park I was not concerned about accidents.
